It’s not just pure imagination — ‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ is coming to Hilton Head Christian Academy
Forty-five students, grade 6-12, at Hilton Head Christian Academy will take the stage Nov. 3-5 as candy crazed children, Oompa Loompa factory workers and more to perform “Willy Wonka Jr.,” which will feature songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder, in addition to some new songs.
Shows begin at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 and Nov. 5 and at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at HHCA’s Performing Arts Center at 55 Gardner Drive.
All of your favorites from the classic tale are here: the overachieving eater, Augustus Gloop (Blake Lutz), video game junkie, Mike Teavee (Caden Becker), gum-chewing enthusiast, Violet Beauregard (Annabel Court), and spoiled brat, Veruca Salt (Gracen Denton). Seniors, Bryce Warthen and Ty Robinson anchor the cast in the iconic roles of Willy Wonka and Grandpa Joe. Sixth-grade rookie, Christian Becker, will portray the lead role of Charlie Bucket.
Willy Wonka Jr. has a running time of just over an hour, with colorful costumes, magical lighting and sweets both on and off the stage.
Tickets are $10 and available at the door or online at hhcadrama.eventbrite.com.
