Look: BBC thriller 'Wild Cherry' coming to Paramount+

May 29 (UPI) -- Paramount+ has acquired the rights to the hit BBC series Wild Cherry.

The streamer said in a press release Friday that the show will start streaming on its service June 24 in the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Latin America.

Wild Cherry is a six-part thriller starring Carmen Ejogo (The Penguin) as Lorna, a self-made businesswoman whose best friend, Juliet, played by Eve Best (House of the Dragon) comes from wealth. The pair live in an "exclusive enclave" with their daughters.

"Life is perfect in this luxurious haven until their daughters are implicated in a shocking scandal. As toxic secrets ripple through the idyllic town while Lorna and Juliet are forced to take sides, cracks form in the community, shattering its perfect image," an official synopsis reads.

Nicole Lecky created, wrote, executive produced and also stars in the series with Imogen Faires and Amelia May.

The teaser trailer teases a "secret messaging app" and its link to a teen's disappearance.
