'Lanterns' to premiere on HBO Max Aug. 16
April 30 (UPI) -- Superhero drama Lanterns is set to premiere on HBO Max Aug. 16.
The comic-book adaptation introduces Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as Green Lantern intergalactic cops investigating strange goings-on in a small American town where Kelly Macdonald plays the no-nonsense sheriff.
Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen co-star in the show, which was written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King.
James Hawes directed the first two episodes.
