Street Music returns to Port Royal Saturday, beginning with a soulful blues singer who’s been described as a “roots guitar guru.”

The annual series of performances, now in its 28th year, is held on Paris Avenue in the town’s downtown. As always, attendees should bring chairs and wear dancing shoes.

Damon Fowler of Tampa Bay will perform at 6 p.m. The show ends at 10.

“Living Blues Magazine” once described Fowler as “roots guitar guru” who’s preaching “an otherworldly, Americana-themed gospel from a six-stringed pulpit. “

Help of Beaufort, which provides food, clothing and other assistance to those in need, will be selling craft beer, beer, wine and snacks. There is no admission charge.
