Spotted! This popular country singer hung out near Hilton Head last weekend

Sounds like Luke Bryan’s kind of night is actually just a trip to Daufuskie Island!

The Academy of Country Music’s “album of the decade” singer was spotted on Friday afternoon unwinding on the remote island accessible only by boat.

Located off the southern tip of Hilton Head Island, Daufuskie has a population of around 400.

Facebook posts show Bryan, 44, at Old Daufuskie Crab Company and catching up with college friends.

Margi Gundelfinger, who saw the singer at Freeport Marina, said she spoke with him briefly.

“He was at the bar ordering drinks and I walked up, told him how much my grandchildren like him and thanked him for his music,” she told The Island Packet. “He was very gracious. He really just blended in with everyone else.”

Gundelfinger said Bryan mentioned that the “girls” were celebrating a 40th birthday.

“Had I not heard his voice, I wouldn’t have been sure it was him,” she added.

Bryan is no stranger to the Lowcountry.

In 2009, he performed a concert on Hilton Head after cutting a promotional deal with Miller Lite. His show, rather intimate at Park Plaza, attracted hundreds of fans.

He’s also been a sort of legend on Daufuskie. Residents say they’ve seen him milling about the island before.

Bryan is known for his foot-stampin’ songs such as “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” and “That’s My Kind of Night.”

His album, “Crash My Party,” was album of the decade in 2019 and Billboard’s top country album in 2015.
