One person was killed, and several others injured, in a crash involving three vehicles, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Around 8:40 p.m. Friday, a 2024 Ford F-150 was travelling north on SC 462 while a 2016 Jeep Compass and a 2024 Jeep Cherokee were travelling south on the same highway near Snake Road, according to a news release.

All three vehicles then collided, Sgt. Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

It’s unclear from Tidwell’s report which vehicle caused the collision nor the manner of the crash.

The operator of the Ford died from the collision, Tidwell said. Occupants in both the Jeep Compass and Cherokee were transported to an area hospital after sustaining injuries.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by the Jasper County Coroner’s Office.
