Display masterpieces with easy-to-make art wall

Project: Art wall
With a budding artist in the house, Susan DeLano of Hilton Head Island and her husband decided to create an easy art wall to display their son's pictures. Here is her story.
My husband and I bought a house in June and we have been working hard to get it how we want it. Hanging art on the walls has been a low priority to painting and other "new house" chores.
Our son, who recently turned one, has been coming home from school with more and more art projects and we had a problem: our stainless steel refrigerator isn't magnetic. So I did what any normal person would do and logged into Pinterest for a solution. I searched "children's art wall" and found a pin that led to this DIY blog called "A Little of This, A Little of That."
STEP BY STEP
I'm not good at coming up with these ideas myself, but I'm really good at duplicating and following instructions. My husband and I followed the directions from the blog to make our wall. We bought two 1-by-8 boards and my husband cut them into planks 38 inches long. After the boards were cut, we sanded them with medium coarse sandpaper so they would be nice and smooth. We sprayed on one coat of bright green spray paint, let it dry, then sanded just the edges for a distressed look. We bought the clips from Amazon and attached four clips to each board with Gorilla Glue. We installed picture hangers to each end of the board and hung them on the wall.
This was an easy weekend project. We don't have any art on the bottom clips yet because our son keeps ripping them down!
