The theme for The Beaufort Gazette and The Island Packet's July photo contest is "Reflection." Don't be afraid to get creative with this one. You can send us photos that show a reflection, something that represents a moment of reflection or introspection to you, an image you want to reflect on as a memory from this summer... or anything else you think represents the theme.

Snap a photo of it and attach it to an email sent to photocontest@islandpacket.com or photocontest@beaufortgazette.com. By submitting, you agree to our Terms of Use.

Photos should be at least 5-by-7 inches and 200 dpi and in a .jpg file format. In the body of the email, include your full name, town, email address and daytime phone number, the date the photo was taken, where the photo was taken, and a brief (50 words) description of your photo. Please include details. For example, what was the occasion? What camera and lens did you use? If it's not immediately clear how the photo fits the theme, please let us know why it says "reflection" to you.

The contest will be judged by the newspapers' multimedia editor Drew Martin; Phil Heim, the man behind the lens at BeaufortPics.com, the Facebook page by the same name and a gallery on Port Republic Street; and Eat Sleep Play Beaufort, a popular community Facebook page and website.

Entries will be accepted until 5 p.m. July 27. A winner will be announced at the end of the month. The winner's photo will appear in the paper, and all entries will appear in a gallery on the newspapers' website.
