Emergency officials are still scraping bits of Auburn off of the court in Lexington. BAD WILDCATS. PLAY NICE WITH THE OTHERS. Again, this team isn't losing (until the tournament).
24-3 (11-3 ACC)
Last week: No. 2
It was only through the gracious contribution of turnovers and bad strategy that the Blue Devils escaped UNC. They followed that up by dismantling poor ol’ Clemson.
25-1 (13-1 ACC)
Last week: No. 3
Ouch. Point guard London Perrantes busted is nose in a collision with a teammate. Perhaps more concerning is a one-time top ten offense that is struggling for efficiency without Justin Anderson.
4. NOTRE DAME
24-4 (12-3 ACC)
Last week: No. 5
They score a lot, they give up a lot. You want exciting college basketball? Watch the Irish play. Big game at Louisville on the horizon.
22-5 (11-3 SEC)
Last week: 6
[Insert if they beat Texas A&M Tues. night] I’m BUYIN’ IN! PIG SOOIE! [Insert if they lose to Aggies Tues. night] D’OH.
6. NORTH CAROLINA
18-8 (8-5 ACC)
Last week: No. 7
Roy Williams, don’t go and beg for attention for a nice gesture. And don’t call out fans paying their own money to watch your team. They can do as they like. And don’t blow a late lead against Duke.
22-6, (10-5 ACC)
Last week: No. 5
As ugly of a win as you’ll see against sorry Georgia Tech. Kicked guard Chris Jones off the team. I remain entirely unconvinced by the Cardinals.
8. OLE MISS
19-8 (10-4 SEC)
Last week: 8
Stefan Moody is a player. Ole Miss is improving and I believe they’ll beat Georgia on Wednesday in a big clash between teams trying to shore up resumes.
9. TEXAS A&M
19-7 (10-4 SEC)
Last week: 9
Strolled by South Carolina in Columbia to maintain positive momentum heading into the final stretch. Should be safe on Selection Sunday.
19-8 (8-6 SEC)
Last week: 10
REALLY needed that win over Florida, so way to go Tigers. But they’re on the very edge of the selection precipice right now. Can’t afford any bad slip-ups now.
Sorry, Georgia. I just don’t trust you anymore.
