Age divisions will be 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14. BEAUFORT SPORTFISHING AND DIVING CLUB MEETING: When: April 10; Where: Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club, Lady's Island; Time: Social at 6:30 p.m., meeting at 7 p.m.; Notes: The guest speaker will be Capt. Jim Clarke of Straycat Fishing Charters, who will give a presentation on cobia. Cobia will be arriving in the Lowcountry in mid-April offshore, followed by a parade to Port Royal in St. Helena Sound. BEFORE-SCHOOL AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS: When: Monday through Friday (regularly scheduled public school days); Where: Hilton Head Island Recreation Center; Notes: Programs combine play with academics. Children in the afterschool program receive homework assistance. Programs focus on youth development, academic success, friendship and character-building. Before-school program children will be walked over to school. There is a registration fee of $30 per child or $50 per family each year. Completed registration forms must be turned in to Rec Center before your child can attend the program. Financial assistance is available to those in need. PUBLIX LOWCOUNTRY ROOTS ROCK & REGGAE RUN: What: 2nd annual 5K, 10K and 15K races; When: 5 p.m., April 26; Where: Hilton Head Lakes, Hardeeville; Cost: 5K and 10K are $30; 15K race is $45; Notes: A percentage of proceeds from the event will benefit local charities. The 5K Roots Run starts at 5 p.m., and the 10K Rock Run starts at 6 p.m. The 15K Reggae Run will be a combined time of the 5K and 10K. After the races, an awards ceremony and Sunsplash Party will be held. The party will feature reggae music, a craft beer garden and a food court. The party is open to the public.
