Rec Brief, May 6: Trick-shot artist to put on show today at Pinecrest

Pinecrest Golf Course in Bluffton will be hosting several free events today, highlighted by the Dennis Walters Golf Show at 2 p.m.

Walters, who is paralyzed from the waist down, puts on an hour-long show about golf and life lessons -- with plenty of trick shots worked in. He will hit golf balls with clubs made from a car radiator hose, a club that bends in three spots and a club made from a fishing rod, among others. Walters' 20-pound terrier mix, Bucky, also is incorporated into the show.

The day will begin with lunch at 1 p.m., followed by Walters' show. Brown Golf's Terry Miskolczi will conduct a free clinic at 3:30 p.m., and then there will be a putting contest at 4 p.m.

Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
