WEEK OF CHAMPIONS RETURNS IN JUNE

The annual Week of Champions, a week of free sports clinics with Christian professional athletes in attendance, will take place June 11-15.

Clinics in football, soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, golf and cheerleading will be held on Hilton Head Island. In addition, football, soccer and baseball clinics will be held at Bluffton High School.

In addition to getting a chance to work with the pros, participating children will receive free T-shirts at the clinics.

The Week of Champions sports banquet will be held June 11 at the Crowne Plaza. Tables are available by calling Gary Wetherington at 843-757-2150.

On Sunday, June 10, many of the athletes will be speaking in churches throughout the Lowcountry.

TWO FROM BC UNITED CHOSEN FOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

B.C. United under-10 soccer players Thomas Holladay and Aki Carter recently were selected by the South Carolina Youth Soccer Assosiation to join the South Carolina Olympic Development Program. Both Holladay and Carter are in the fourth grade at Beaufort Academy and have been playing with the B.C. United Soccer Club since they were 7. Holladay is a striker, and Carter plays midfield and defense.
