KICKIN' ASPHALT BICYCLE CLUB: What: A bicycle touring club for riders of all ages, abilities and experience levels; Note: Each ride for has 20- or 40-mile option; Information: Call 384-1808 or kickinasphalt.info.
PRINCE WILLIAM CYCLE TOUR: What: 62-mile or 35-mile bicycle ride through the country roads of Prince William Parish; Where: Ride begins and ends at Buckfield Plantation in Yemassee; When: Oct. 22; Cost: $35 per rider before Oct. 1, $45 after; Notes: This is not a race. The 2nd annual ride is sponsored by the Yemassee Revitalization Corporation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to restore and beautify downtown Yemassee. Packet pick-up is 4-7 p.m. Oct. 21 or 6:30-7:30 am on day of ride. An after-ride lunch will be served on the grounds of the plantation. All riders must be at least 16 years of age. The 22-mile race starts on the Coosaw River near the Brickyards, proceeds down the Coosaw River to St. Helena Sound, then heads up the Morgan River to finish at the Dataw Island Marina.
