Triathlon Series continues this weekend at Coligny Beach

The Go Tri Sports South Carolina Triathlon Series makes its way to Hilton Head Island on Saturday for the CalU Hilton Head Triathlon, and men's point leader James Loging of Laurens is among the 240 participants who pre-registered for the race.

Loging will look to maintain his spot atop the standings in the race, which begins at 7 a.m. on Coligny Beach with a 500-meter ocean swim before moving to a 20-kilometer bike and a five-kilometer run.

Bluffton's Bridget Campbell, who is sixth in the women's points race and holds the female course record, headlines the women's field.

The race will affect traffic on Pope Ave., Cordillo Parkway and South Forest Beach Road, including Coligny Circle, from 6 to 11 a.m. One lane of traffic will be closed to motorized vehicles, and traffic will be routed on a one-way loop south on Cordillo Parkway, north on South Forest Beach Road and west on Pope Ave.
