BLUFFTON BLAZE WIN ANOTHER TOURNAMENT

The Bluffton Blaze 12-and-under baseball team took first place last weekend in a USSSA tournament at the Mill Creek Baseball Complex in Statesboro, Ga.

The team has brought home first-place trophies from its last three USSSA tournaments. The Blaze outscored their opponents 40-12 in the Statesboro tournament, defeating the Effingham Bobcats 7-4 in the championship game.

The Blaze received home runs from Tad Zmarzly, Tim Ortega, Trenton Daley and Cooper Morgan during the tournament. Morgan also had a game-winning hit. Connor O'Brien, James Brighton, Matt Gruder and Nick Lucchesi led the Blaze in the field. Grayson Lowe, Justin Rice and Kyle Adkins also contributed during the tournament.
