The Hilton Head Prep Dolphins dropped their opening game at Orangeburg Prep 29-14 Friday night.
The Dolphins posted all their points in the first quarter, getting a 60-yard touchdown romp from Rodney Sturgis and a 70-yard fumble return by Blake Sollie. Waddy Brooks added the PATs.
Orangeburg Prep led 16-14 at halftime.
The contest was interrupted by lightning early in the fourth period. Orangeburg Prep was up 22-14 when the delay started.
Beaufort 26, Wando 17
After falling behind 10-6, the Beaufort Eagles ripped off 20 straight points en route to victory at Wando.
Wyatt Shepensky tallied all three touchdowns during the decisive outburst. The runs covered 15, 12 and 8 yards.The first one put Beaufort up 12-10 at halftime. The last two occurred late in the third quarter.
Wando’s final score came in the fourth period.
