Prep roundup, Dec. 30: Ridgeland-Hardeeville boys defeat Boyd H. Anderson to win Bobcat Classic

Ridgeland-Hardeeville defeated Boyd H. Anderson 72-69 on Tuesday at Bluffton High School to win the boys championship of the Bobcat Classic.

On the girls side, Connelly School (Md.) defeated Charlotte (N.C.) Christian 51-35 in the final. The Bluffton girls finished fourth, while Ridgeland-Hardeeville was seventh.

Bluffton's Tiffany Blank made the girls all-tournament team.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Hilton Head Island 61, Metrolina Christian 58: After holding a 36-20 led at the half, the Seahawks (4-6) had to hold on for the win.

The Seahawks were led by Patrick Riley's 20 points. Troy Clifford added 13, and Bryce Singleton had 11. Hilton Head plays at 8 p.m. Saturday at South Effingham.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Hilton Head Island 44, Booker T. Washington (Fla.) 32: The Seahawks improved to 6-2 with a win in Windermere, Fla.

Americal Jenkins led Hilton Head with 28 points. The Seahawks play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at South Effingham.
