Hilton Head Prep 6, Hilton Head Christian 3: The Hilton Head Prep boys tennis team knocked off rival Hilton Head Christian Academy on a windy afternoon, taking four of the six singles matches.

The Eagles dropped their second straight to start the season despite wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Hilton Head Christian's Hampton Drake was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Jared Woodson at No. 1 in a showdown between two of the area's best players.

But Hilton Head Prep won four of the next five singles matches, including Jack Kelly's 6-0, 6-2 win over Cameron Clark at No. 3.

Hilton Head Christian (0-2) is idle until an April 4 visit to Hilton Head Island High.

Bluffton 7, Colleton County 0: The Bobcats only dropped two games in the entire match, winning four of the five singles matches and both of the doubles matches without dropping a single game.

Bluffton (2-0 overall, 2-0 Region 8-AAAA) plays again at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, hosting Hilton Head Prep.

Beaufort High 4, Summerville 3: The Eagles improved to 2-0 in Region 8-AAAA with a hard-fought win over Summerville.

Owen Stovall's three-set win over Austin Wiseman at No. 5 singles proved to be the difference for Beaufort High (2-3), which plays at Ashley Ridge on Thursday.

Hilton Head Christian Academy 3, Beaufort Academy 0: Hannah Reynolds scored two goals and Lindsey Gillis added another to lift HHCA to the win.

Meaghan Gillis made five saves to record the shutout for Hilton Head Christian (4-1 overall, 3-0 region), which hosts Hilton Head Prep at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Carli Cline made eight saves in goal for Beaufort Academy.

Hilton Head Prep 3, St. Andrew's 2: The Dolphins climbed back to .500 with the road win.

Foster Willey, Maren Czura and Charlotte Covington scored goals for the Dolphins (3-3), which hosts Northwood Academy at 4 p.m. Friday.


Hilton Head Island High 192, Hilton Head Christian Academy 210: Travis Mancill won medalist honors at Golden Bear Golf Club as the Seahawks defeated the Eagles in an expanded format. Both teams played eight golfers, with the top five counting toward the team score.

Hilton Head Island High 5, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 0: Jake Hoffman, Eneo Torres, Noa Pagatpatan, Garvin Richards and Freisser Queseda each scored a goal as the Seahawks chalked up an easy win at Orangeburg.

Hilton Head High (5-3 overall, 1-1 Region 8-AAA) hosts Parkview, Ga., on Friday.

Beaufort Academy 2, Hilton Head Christian Academy 1: Nicky Macuch and Jack Olsson scored goals to lift Beaufort Academy.

Beaufort Academy (6-3 overall, 2-0 SCISAA Region 2-AA) plays at Hilton Head Prep at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Hilton Head Prep 11, St. Andrew's 0: Teron Daley had a hat trick, while Ryan Henderson and Will Peterkin added two goals apiece as the Dolphins rolled to a win in Savannah.

Cole Frederick, Lucas McMillan, Waddy Brooks and Noah Sulek each added a goal, and goalkeeper Robert Clark made six saves for the shutout.

Hilton Head Prep (4-4 overall, 2-0 region) hosts Beaufort Academy at 5:30 p.m. Friday.


Beaufort High 20, Allendale-Fairfax 2: R.J. Heape and Chris Hightower had two hits apiece to lead the Eagles in a rout of Allendale-Fairfax.

Heape had a double and two RBIs, and Hightower also had a double. Stephen Baggett hit a home run, Mattison Pike had a triple and three RBIs, Jordan Clegg hit a triple and had two RBIs, and Andrew Smith had four stolen bases for Beaufort.

Alex Hill was the winning pitcher.


Whale Branch 20, Estill 12 (4 innings): Olivia Walker went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Tanasia Campbell was 1 for 2 with three RBIs to lead Whale Branch to the win.

Walker got the win, improving to 4-2. She had seven strikeouts.

The Warriors (4-3 overall, 3-1 Region 5-A) host Bethune-Bowman on Thursday.

Battery Creek 15, Academic Magnet 5 (5 innings): Michaux Gee had a triple and two RBIs, and Julianne Greer had a double and scored two runs as the Dolphins rolled to a quick win.

Kyleigh Peeples was the winning pitcher for Battery Creek (3-1 Region 6-AA), which plays at Burke at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
