Prep Roundup, April 7: Bluffton High soccer team tops Chattahoochee, 4-2


Bluffton 4, Chattahoochee (Ga.) 2: Fabrizio Camera scored two goals, and Omar Govea and Jonathan Escamilla added one apiece to help the Bobcats defeat the visitors from Georgia.

Govea, Akeel Crooks and Sage Cross each had one assist for Bluffton (6-6), which got five saves from goalkeeper Kevin Millan.

Bluffton returns to Region 8-AAAA play on Tuesday, traveling to Ashley Ridge.


Ashley Hall 5, Hilton Head Prep 1: Eighth-grader Catherine Sheehan scored on a strike from 23 yards out to tie the game at 1-1, but Ashley Hall broke away from the Dolphins in the second half.

Hilton Head Prep (6-5 overall, 2-3 region) hosts Porter-Gaud at 4 p.m. Monday.


Hilton Head Christian Academy: The Eagles find themselves in the hunt for the title at the fourth annual Low Country Classic at The Plantation Course in Edisto, as they shot a team total of 297 to trail leader Christ Church Episcopal by just two strokes.

Pendleton is in second place at 296, and Hilton Head Christian is tied for third with AC Flora at 297. Bishop England is fifth after a first-round total of 298.

JD Lehman led the way for Hilton Head Christian, carding a 70. Jonathan Hardee of Riverside had Saturday's low round, a 65.

Bryson Nimmer shot a 73, Jonathan Schuble had a 76 and RJ Bartolomucci a 78 for Hilton Head Christian.

The final round of the 20-team invitational begins at 8:45 a.m. today.


Wando 13, Hilton Head Island High 6 (Friday): The Seahawks were ousted in the second round of the SCHSL playoffs.

Nate Jones scored five goals for Hilton Head High and Harrison Moore had the other. Goalies Sam Jones and Madison Gayle combined for 13 saves in the loss.

Hilton Head High finishes the season at 8-5.
