Hilton Head Prep 10, Westminster School 0 (5 innings): Jake Martin held Westminster School to two hits, helping the Hilton Head Prep baseball team start its season with a 10-0 victory Friday in five innings.
Martin registered six strikeouts against the Georgia visitors and walked three.
"Jake Martin pitched really well and we played good defense," Prep coach Lew Kent said.

John Sheehan went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Randy Young was 2 for 2 with two stolen bases and two runs scored for the Dolphins (1-0), who host Westminster again today at 1 p.m.
Hilton Head Christian Academy 7, Northwood Academy 0: Lexi Lainhart scored two goals as the Eagles notched their first win of the season.
Rebecca Meeder, Kellee Vest, Stevie DeSimone, Alyssa Lane and Andy Anderson also scored goals for Hilton Head Christian (1-2 overall, 1-1 region), which jumped out to a 5-0 lead by halftime.
Meaghan Gillis and Mary Allan Dolyniuk split time in goal for the Eagles, sharing the shutout.
Hilton Head Christian plays at Porter-Gaud at 5 p.m. Monday.
Hilton Head Prep 6, First Baptist 0: Halie Parker pounded home five goals to help the Dolphins rout First Baptst.
Catherine Sheehan added a goal, and Emily Lacombe earned the shutout for Prep, which is off until March 12 at Northwood Academy.

Amit Kohli, Teron Daley, Keylan Hanna and Will Peterkin had solo goals, and Logan Clark and Ryan Henderson had two assists apiece.

Hilton Head Christian Academy 4, Northwood Academy 3 (SO): The Eagles came out on top in penalty kicks, taking the shootout 5-4 after a game-winning save by goalkeeper Hector Mendoza.
JR Moise scored twice and Caleb Lewis had the other goal for Hilton Head Christian (2-1 overall, 2-1 region), which returns to action at 6 p.m. Thursday at Whale Branch.
North/South All-Star Matches: Beaufort County's wrestlers once again showed off their strength, as six of the seven area wrestlers competing in the all-star event at North Myrtle Beach won, helping their South teams to victories.
Hilton Head Island High School's Label Lewis -- named the Class 3-A wrestler of the year earlier Friday at the all-star banquet -- won with a pin to help the 3-A/2-A South team defeat the 4-A/1-A North squad. Battery Creek's DeAndre Johnson had one of the most eye-opening wins of the first day, scoring a decision over two-time state champion Will Thomas of Dorman, who was selected as the 4-A wrestler of year.
Bluffton's Austin Farmer had a pin to help the 4-A/1-A South team defeat the 3-A/2-A North all-stars.
Four Beaufort High wrestlers joined Farmer on the 4-A/1-A roster, with three recording victories. Clint Wright won by technical fall, Codrian Smalls scored a major decision and heavyweight Tyler Wilson won 1-0. Trey Arant was the only area wrestler to fall, losing a decision.
The two South teams will square off today at noon for the championship.
SCISAA North-South All-Star Games: Four area players will compete today in SCISAA's North-South All-Star basketball games at Wilson Hall in Sumter.
Hilton Head Prep's John Eck and Randy Young will play for the South 3-A boys team, while Hilton Head Christian's Ziarre Doe will play for the South 3-A girls. Thomas Heyward Academy's Taylor Ernestine will play for the South 1-A/2-A girls.
The 3-A girls and 1-A/2-A girls games are at 12:30 p.m. The 3-A boys game is at 2 p.m.
