Two-minute Drill: Beaufort High's Jordan Fields

Jordan Fields takes her role as captain seriously.

The Beaufort High School senior has had to help guide the Eagles through a tough start to the year. Fields leads the team in scoring, averaging 10.2 points per game and averages 3.5 steals.

But her primary contribution might be as captain and motivator.

"If somebody is not doing the right thing, I have to let them know," Fields said. "Just keep your head up on and off the court. Don't give up. We're not quitters at all."

Fields believes the Eagles, who earned their lone victory against Berkeley on Dec. 27, have improved throughout the season. The team has worked on being more aggressive on defense.

Beaufort High has eight games remaining, starting at Colleton County tonight. Fields expects the Eagles to finish strong.

After graduation, she'll prepare for USC Upstate, where she plans to study nursing. The Beaufort Gazette and The Island Packet caught up with her after practice this week and ran her through our 2-minute drill.
