Andrew Orischak, Gavin Lindstrom and Brooks Moody shot 73s on Monday to lead Hilton Head Island High to a 302 team score and a tie for third place after Day 1of the Class 3-A Boys State Golf Tournament at Coastal Carolina's Hackler Course in Conway.
The Seahawks are tied with A.C. Flora, four shots off the top score of 298 by Chapin. The Eagles are led by the individual leader, Will Stark, who shot 68. Greenville is second at 300.
Chris O'Donnell and Troy Hoisington each shot 83s for the Seahawks as well.
"We're looking forward to tomorrow," Hilton Head Island coach Bill Smith said. "I'm hoping we can pull it off."
Bluffton shot 325 as a team, led by Wesley Long and Alec Weary, who each shot 78s. Elliot Johnson fired an 80 for the Bobcats.
BEAUFORT HIGH 16TH AT CLASS 4-A BOYS GOLF
The Beaufort High Eagles shot a two-round, first-day total of 660 and are 16th at the 4-A Boys State Golf tournamennt at the Furman University Course in Greenville.
South Aiken leads Easley 603-604 through 36 holes, and North Augusta's Matt Neismith (138) is the individual leader, followed by a three-way tie between Dorman's Blake Kennedy, South Aiken's Hayden Ploeger and Easley's Trace Crowe at 143.
Josh Fickes is the Eagles' top individual at 152.

REBELS RAINED OUT
Thomas Heyward's opener at Marlboro Academy in the SCISAA Class 2-A softball state championship series was rained out Monday. The best-two-of-three series will be backed up a day with Game 1 coming today at a site to be determined by 11 a.m. Depending on the weather, the Rebels will either play at Marlboro Academy at 5 p.m. or at Thomas Heyward at 6:30 p.m.
