Hilton Head Prep and Thomas Heyward Academy are six wins away from ending their volleyball seasons with state titles -- and two losses away from ending them empty-handed.
The Class 3-A Dolphins open play today with the Class 2-A Rebels to follow tomorrow in the double-elimination SCISAA state volleyball tournament at the Sumter County Exhibition Center.
The Dolphins are the No. 3 seed in the upper bracket and will open play at 1:45 p.m. against No. 6 seed Florence Christian. The winner will face No. 2 seed Hammond School in the second round at 3:05 p.m. Porter-Gaud is the top seed in the upper bracket, while Ashley Hall is the top seed in the lower bracket.
The Rebels are the No. 5 seed in the Class 2-A lower bracket and open the tournament at 12:20 p.m. Friday against No. 4 seed Richard Winn. Holly Hill is the top seed in the bracket and likely awaits the winner. Spartanburg Christian is the No. 1 seed in the upper bracket.
