VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY

Battery Creek: The Dolphins finished third in both the boys and girls races of a seven-school meet at Cane Bay. Academic Magnet was the team winner on both sides.

Alexis Miller led the Battery Creek girls, finishing eighth with a time of 22 minutes, 49 seconds. Raheem Cooper was the first Battery Creek boy across, clocking a time of 19:33 in 13th place.

The Dolphins run again on Saturday in the Beaufort County meet at Hilton Head Prep.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Hilton Head Prep 3, Pinewood Prep 1: The Dolphins earned the win in Summerville, 25-16, 25-12, 19-25, 25-15. Liz Buterbaugh led the Dolphins with 18 kills and four blocks. Halie Parker added 17 kills, and Mackenzie Brown had four kills and three digs. Brooke Churchich had 31 assists and three kills for Prep (20-12), which makes the short trip to Hilton Head High for a 5:15 p.m. match today.
