Prep Roundup, Oct. 12: HHCA girls 3rd at SCISAA state golf meet

The Hilton Head Christian Academy girls golf team finished third among eight teams at the SCISAA state tournament Tuesday at Orangeburg Country Club, posting a team score of 199 in the nine-hole event.

Pinewood Prep won the team title by a wide margin with a 159, and Hammond School edged the Eagles for second with a 196.

Anna Lesemann Eddy earned all-state honors with a third-place finish, pacing the Eagles with a 40. Maddy Bauer shot 46, Jamie Hubbard posted a 54 and Jordan Foster rounded out Hilton Head Christian's lineup with a 59.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Battery Creek: The Dolphins remained winless in Region 7-AAA, dropping matches to Lake Marion (25-19, 25-22) and Cane Bay (25-22, 25-23).

Nikki Hill had 15 kills and two blocks on the night for Battery Creek (8-15 overall, 0-9 region). Macala Barnard had 10 assists and seven aces, Sharea Walls and Samantha Colleran had five kills each, Vanessa Stanley had nine assists and Tina Kwok had 12 digs.

Bluffton 7, Battery Creek 0: The Bobcats coasted past their Region 7-AAA opponent. Battery Creek plays at Hilton Head High on Thursday.
