CROSS COUNTRY

Wendy's Invitational: Hilton Head High's boys finished first out of 28 teams in the Open division of the elite Charlotte meet. Jack Manesiotis' personal-best time of 15 minutes, 36 seconds, was good for third place for the Seahawks, whose top five runners all finished 21st or better.

Faith Lifer was 10th, helping the Hilton Head High girls finish fifth at the invitational, which featured 96 schools and nearly 3,300 runners from around the Southeast.

Joshua Tierney (17:13) was 34th in the boys 3-A division and Scottie House (20:54) was 34th in girls 3-A, the top finishers for Bluffton.

HHH girls (5th of 28) -- 10. Faith Lifer 19:28, 27. Carly McGlinn 20:12, 39. Savannah Schepp 20:29, 49. Ciara McMahon 20:45, 52. Michelle Stine 20:52

Low Country Invitational: Beaufort High finished 14th and Hilton Head Prep was 18th in the boys division at Johns Island.

Brandon Pratt (17:54) was 23rd to lead Beaufort's boys. Taylor Calamari placed 64th to top Hilton Head Prep's boys.

Hilton Head Prep's girls finished 10th out of 15 teams, led by Maren Czura's 46th place.

Alexandra Zapp (22:18) came in 51st place to lead Beaufort High's girls squad, which didn't field enough runners to record a team score.

Stratford won the boys division and Spartanburg Christian was the girls winner.
