Beaufort High 6, Summerville 0: The Eagles improved to 2-0 in Region 8-AAAA by defeating the Green Wave.

Ashley Hall 9, Hilton Head Christian 0: Eagles players Lindsey Lane and Catherine Campbell came closest to earning a win, at No. 2 doubles. The pair fell 8-7 (8-6) in a match where each side served multiple times for match point. The Eagles travel Monday to Porter-Gaud.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Hilton Head High: The Seahawks won a pair of matches in three games, defeating St. Vincent's Academy (25-19, 20-25, 25-23) and Savannah Arts Academy (25-14, 20-25, 25-19).

Sierra Davis had 18 kills and Kensley Phillips added eight to lead the Hilton Head High attack. Elaine Natoli set for 39 assists, and Jada Reilley had five aces for the Seahawks (8-5), who host Bluffton and Cane Bay in a region tri-match on Tuesday.

Battery Creek 3, Beaufort Academy 0: Battery Creek cruised against its crosstown, non-region rival, winning 25-15, 25-13, 25-16. Sherea Walls helped lead the Dolphins with six kills and two aces. Tina Kwok delivered five aces and came up with four digs. Courtney Lane finished with four kils and Sara Anderson and Nikki Hill added three each. Battery Creek's Vanessa Stanley led the team with six assists and Macala Barnard added 5. Stephanie Colleran contributed three digs. Battery Creek (7-13) plays host to Colleton County on Tuesday for senior night.

Porter-Gaud 3, Hilton Head Prep 1: Host Prep played a competitive match, losing 16-25, 18-25, 25-21, 16-25. Prep's Liz Buterbaugh led the way with 18 kills and seven blocks, Halie Parker added six kills and eight digs. Brooke Churchich finished with 25 assists. Abby Miles added four kills and six digs. And Mackenzie Brown had 10 digs. Prep (14-10) hosts Hilton Head Christian at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Beaufort High: The Eagles split a tri-match, falling to Ashley Ridge 2-1 and defeating Colleton County in two games. Beaufort High fell to Ashley Ridge with scores of 24-26, 25-21, 21-25 and defeated Colleton County 25-17, 25-8. Beaufort High's Alexia Neal finished with 11 digs and nine kills against Ashley Ridge. Mykalah Smalls added nine kills during the Ashley Ridge match. Janelle Berks finished with five blocks during the match. And Kayla Ferguson contributed 16 assists against Ashley Ridge.

Neal came up with seven more digs against Colleton County. Smalls tallied 11 kills. Berks blocked three more shots. And Amber Gant added six kills.

Beaufort High (5-4, 3-1 Region 8-AAAA) plays host to West Ashley and Summerville on Tuesday.

Bluffton: Bluffton swept a pair of region matches on the road. The Bobcats defeated Cane Bay 25-20, 25-10 and eased past Lake Marion 25-6, 25-10. Mackenzie Cooler led Bluffton with 17 kills and 11 assists. Jordan Franklin added 16 kills and finished 22 for 22 serving. Abby Roulston contributed 13 kills on the night. And Grace Collins finished with 38 assists. Bluffton improved to 22-1 and 6-0 in Region 7-AAA. The Bobcats play Tuesday at Hilton Head High.

Whale Branch: Whale Branch swept a pair of region matches at home to remain undefeated in Region 5-A.

The Warriors defeated Hardeeville 25-12, 25-17 and took down Bamberg-Ehrhardt 25-11, 25-12. Vanessa Scott finished with 11 aces and eight kills to help lead the Warriors. Deborah Fields tallied 19 kills and a pair of aces. Jamie Whalen finished with six kills and six aces.

Monique Bing piled up 39 assists. And Maddie Summerill recorded 12 aces. Nicole Fulton contributed five aces and two kills for Whale Branch, which moved to 10-1 on the season and 8-0 in region play. The Warriors play host to Colleton County on Monday for senior night and will wear pink to support breast cancer awareness.

Orangeburg Prep 3, Thomas Heyward 1: The Rebels fell on the road, with scores of 17-25, 25-16, 21-25, 9-25.

VARSITY GOLF

Tri-match: Bluffton defeated Hilton Head High and Beaufort High in a match at Island West. The Bobcats fired a team score of 150. Hilton Head High shot 177 and Beaufort High finished at 207. Bluffton's Sammie Buchanan was medalist with a 2-under-par 34. Other Bluffton scores were Kylie Nizolek 36, Kasidy Beckel 39, Brandi Hammonds 41 and Hayley Trimmer 45.

Hilton Head High was led by Jackie Budidharma's 39. And Michelle Britton led the Eagles with a 48. Bluffton improved to 37-4. The Bobcats will play a four-team match at Island West on Thursday.

VARSITY SWIMMING

Meet at Stratford: Battery Creek finished its season with multiple swimmers achieving personal best times. Senior Kris Ayers finished his high school career with a personal best time of 28.59 in the 50 freestyle. First-year swimmer Sarah Kardohely cut her 100-meter breaststroke to a personal best time of 2:05.42.

Other personal bests set were Ruth Eklund (39.00) and Hannah Countegan (37.96) in the 50 freestyle. Stephen Kadas cut 11 seconds from his 100 backstroke, finishing in 1:33.12.
