Ashley Hall 5, Hilton Head Prep 4: The defending SCISAA state champions held off Hilton Head Prep with the help of a hard-fought victory at No. 5 singles, where Sallie Chamberlain outlasted the Dolphins' Maggi Colket in three sets.

Colleton Prep 5, Beaufort Academy 4: The visitors took two of the three doubles matches to secure the victory over Beaufort Academy (1-1). The Eagles return to action Tuesday at Pinewood Prep.

Bluffton 3, Savannah Christian 2: Mackenzie Cooler had 13 kills, 17 assists and was 29 for 30 serving to help the Bobcats fight off Savannah Christian, 25-15, 26-28, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10.

Jordan Franklin added 13 kills, Dani Bothe had 12 and Abby Roulston finished with 11 for the Bobcats (6-2). Grace Collins contributed 14 assists and Morgan Delaplane came up with 37 digs in the five-game battle.

The Bobcats head to Brunswick, Ga., this weekend for a tournament at Glynn Academy.

James Island 2, Beaufort High 0: The Eagles dropped to 3-2 on the season with a 25-13, 25-12 loss to non-region foe James Island.

Mykalah Smalls led Beaufort High with three kills, while Amber Gant and Ariana Parker had two each. Alexia Neal and Janelle Burks both finished with two blocks. Kayla Ferguson led the Eagles with three assists, and Amber Clatterbuck set for two. Ashley Tillery and Neal each had four digs.

The Eagles play a tri-match Tuesday at Goose Creek along with Fort Dorchester.

Wade Hampton 3, Battery Creek 2: The Dolphins fought back from an early 2-0 deficit but came up short in the final game, as Wade Hampton escaped with the win, 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 20-25, 15-13.

Sharea Walls had seven kills and Sara Anderson had five kills and five aces to lead the Dolphins. Macala Barnard added three aces and Stephanie Colleran had two. Tina Twok finished with four digs and Sarah Rice put away two kills.

Battery Creek (1-5) plays again today, facing Charleston Math & Science and Academic Magnet in a tri-match.
