Pee Dee Academy 7-13, Thomas Heyward Academy 4-5: The Rebels' season came to an end in the second round of the SCISAA Class 2-A playoffs Friday night in Mullins, as the second-seeded Eagles took the first two games in the best-of-three series, 7-4 and 13-5.

"It was a good year," Rebels coach Nic Shuford said. "It didn't end quite the way we envisioned it, but it was a good year, and we've got a good young group coming back next year."

Ryan Day took the loss in the opener for Thomas Heyward (18-8), pitching four innings.

Day hit a solo home run in the top of the first inning in Game 2, but Pee Dee quickly answered in the bottom half and took the lead. Zack Newton suffered the loss for the Rebels.

Hilton Head Prep at Pinewood Prep, postponed: The Dolphins' second-round series only made it one inning Friday in Summerville before rain halted play. The teams will continue the action today at 5 p.m. with Pinewood Prep holding a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning of Game 1 of the SCISAA Class 3-A playoff series.
