VARSITY SOFTBALL

Bluffton 7, Colleton County 1: Winning pitcher Courtney Smith pitched seven innings, striking out 11, to spark the Bobcats.

Lauren Lowell went 2 for 3 with two runs scored for Bluffton. Summer Lawson had one hit and drove in a pair of runs.

Brittany Windish's line drive keyed a five-run outburst for Bluffton in the fourth inning.

Now 16-2, the Bobcats host Thomas Heyward Academy on Monday.

VARSITY BOYS SOCCER

Bluffton 2, Berkeley 1: Mallie Sprouse scored with a minute to play, and the Bobcats won on the road to improve to 8-5 overall.

Osmar Moreno scored a first-half goal for Bluffton, and Chris Sullivan made six saves in net.

Bluffton next travels to Battery Creek on Thursday and Airport on Friday.

Beaufort High 3, Hilton Head High 0: Andrew Settlemire, Ben Carey and David Seguine scored to lead the Eagles.

Beaufort High goalkeeper Nick Manos made one save.

The Eagles (14-2-2) return to action Thursday at Summerville.
