Bluffton wins tri-meet: The Bobcats won their season opener by six strokes in a tri-meet against Hilton Head High and Wade Hampton at Pinecrest Golf Club. Pierce Brehany and Shane Fox shared medalist honors for Bluffton with 37s, Wesley Long posted a 39, and Chris Manning shot a 41, giving the Bobcats a combined score of 154.

Tate Hoisington led Hilton Head High with a 38. Brooks Moody (39), Troy Hoisington (40) and Phillip North (43) rounded out the lineup for the Seahawks, which shot a team score of 160.

Wade Hampton, which finished at 219, was led by Michael Simmons' 46.

HHCA at Bengal Invitational: Hilton Head Christian compiled a team score of 327 in the first round of a two-day tournament at Cobblestone Park Golf Club in Blythewood and will enter today's round in the middle of the pack in the 26-team Bengal Invitational.

Chandler Vilcheck led the Eagles with a 75, which places him among the tournament's leaders. Bryson Nimmer shot an 81, J.D. Lehman shot an 83 and R.J. Bartolomucci rounded out the scoring with an 88.


Beaufort Academy 5, Patrick Henry 0: The Eagles got goals from four players to stay unbeaten. Madeline Griffith scored two goals, and Niki Ozburn, Grace Stewart and Brynna Ferry each scored one in the home match.

Beaufort Academy (3-0-2 overall, 2-0 SCISAA Region 2-AAA) travels to Step of Faith Christian for a game at 4 p.m. Monday.
