Reed becomes latest HHH lacrosse player bound for Mars Hill

The way Clayton Reed sees it, Hilton Head High has a pretty good thing going. And he's not ready to see it come to an end just yet.

A senior goalie on the Seahawks lacrosse team, Reed ensured it doesn't have to -- well, at least not completely.

Reed signed a letter of intent to attend Mars Hill College on a scholarship, where he will join a trio of his senior teammates -- Charlie Jackson, Yannie Reynecke and Nick Roberts -- to play NCAA Division II lacrosse.

"The deciding factor was my three buddies going there," Reed said. "... As far as college life, it should make things a lot easier. That's why we wanted to stick together."

Reed has played goalie since the seventh grade and has been the Seahawks' goalie for three seasons. He was named to the S.C. Lacrosse League's second team all-state after helping the Seahawks reach the Lower State finals.
