Summerville 50, Beaufort High 40: Jarrell Rice scored 17 points and Brandon Wilkerson added 14 as the Green Wave handed Beaufort High its first loss in Region 8-AAAA.

Jordan Adderly had 14 points, four steals and four assists to lead the Eagles (13-4 overall, 2-1 region). Dymonte Gwathney added 12 points, Keith Carpenter had 10 and Rakeem Palmer had four rebounds for Beaufort High, which hosts Burke tonight.

First Baptist 67, Thomas Heyward 28: J.T. Kershaw had 12 points to lead First Baptist to a rout of the Rebels in SCISAA Region 1-AA.

JA Malphrus led Thomas Heyward (9-6 overall, 3-2 region) with seven points and Logan Mock added six points and four steals. Don Simmons finished with five points and Amar Patel had three for the Rebels, who host Cathedral Academy on Tuesday.

Hilton Head Christian 68, Northwood Academy 57: JaBrook Tucker poured in 27 points as the Eagles jumped out early and held on down the stretch for a win in SCISAA Region 3-AAA.

Taylor MacDonald added 16 points and seven rebounds for Hilton Head Christian (10-5 overall, 2-2 region), which led by 15 points at halftime. J.D. Meeder finished with seven points, Brad Meccariello had six assists and C.J. Evanofski had three steals for the Eagles.

Northwood Academy, which was led by Reed Radenbaugh's 13 points, cut the Eagles' lead to six in the fourth quarter before the home team pulled away with the help of free throws.

Hilton Head Christian plays Monday at Colleton Prep.

Hardeeville 63, Whale Branch 48: Jarrell Knighton scored 15 points to lead four Hardeeville players in double figures, and the Hurricanes pulled away in the second half for a Region 5-A victory.

Leroy Perry had 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Warriors (3-12 overall, 2-6 in Region 5-A). Stedmon James added seven points and six assists for Whale Branch, and D Delaney had eight points and three steals.

Jeremiah Nelson added 13 points for Hardeeville, Donald Scott had 12, and Travon Harris scored 11.

Whale Branch plays at Allendale-Fairfax on Tuesday, while Hardeeville travels to Estill.

St. Andrew's 49, Beaufort Academy 27: Jack Griffith had eight points and six rebounds in the Eagles' loss.

Preston Suber chipped in seven points and five boards for Beaufort Academy (5-10, 3-6 SCISAA Region 1-AA).

The Eagles host Andrew Jackson on Monday.


Summerville 57, Beaufort High 37: Shanolla Council scored 19 points to lead Summerville past the Eagles.

Ebony Watson finished with a double-double in the loss, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Mykalah Smalls added six points and five rebounds, and Emani Gray and Veneshia Holmes had six points apiece. Jay Shaw had a team-high seven steals for Beaufort (9-8 overall, 1-2 Region 8-AAAA), which hosts Burke at 6:30 tonight.

Hardeeville 32, Whale Branch 18: Kaneisha Staten had 12 to lead the Hurricanes to a Region 5-A win over Whale Branch. Crystal Bonaparte added eight points for Hardeeville, which led 23-11 at halftime.

S'nitra Mack was Whale Branch's leading scorer with six points. Kenyada Moultrie added five for the Warriors, who fall to 3-5 in the region.

Whale Branch plays at Allendale-Fairfax on Tuesday.

Beaufort Academy 37, St. Andrew's 33: Miranda Weslake and Charlotte Delfosse -- who hit four 3-pointers -- had 13 points apiece as the Eagles pulled out a hard-fought win over St. Andrew's in SCISAA Region 1-AA.

Katherine Neal added seven points for Beaufort Academy (10-5 overall, 6-2 region), but left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. Short-handed, the Eagles held on down the stretch with help from eighth-graders Taylor Vincent and McKenzie Blake, who led the team with seven rebounds and was in charge of guarding St. Andrew's leading scorer Molly Curley.

Curley finished with 11 points.

Beaufort Academy returns to action Monday with a 6 p.m. home game against Andrew Jackson.

Thomas Heyward 74, First Baptist 26: Jamie Malphrus and Kayla Canavan had 16 points each as the Rebels put five scorers in double figures and coasted to an easy win in SCISAA Region 1-AA.

Ashlie Layman added 12 points for Thomas Heyward (11-4 overall, 3-1 region) and Caitlyn Cooler and Brielle Jungblut finished with 10 apiece.

Lauren Orr had nine points to lead First Baptist.

The Rebels host Cathedral Academy on Tuesday.

Northwood Academy 58, Hilton Head Christian 25: Anna Bensch shot 4 for 4 from the field and finished with a team-high eight points as the Eagles fell at home.

Northwood's Amber Campbell finished with a game-best 20 points.

Hilton Head Christian's Becky Woods and Reilly Malphrus contributed four points each, and Jaden Colella notched three points, three assists, four rebounds and two steals. Bensch also had two assists and a block.

The Eagles (1-15, 0-6 SCISAA Region 3-AAA) visit Colleton Prep on Monday before returning home the next night to host Beaufort Academy.


Bluffton tri-match at Hanahan (Thursday): Bluffton High School swept a tri-match at Hanahan, beating the host Hawks 36-33 and edging Wando 37-36. Austin Farmer (119), Alex Waddell (125), Kyle Waddell (171) and Manuel Lopez (189) went 2-0 for the Bobcats, who travel to Columbia for the Highlander Duals at Heathwood Hall this weekend.
