Summerville 37, Beaufort High 30: The Eagles had victory in their grasp, with 145-pounder Trey Arant leading the last match of the night, but a disqualification call against the sophomore gave the win to the host Green Wave.
Zach Brown (152), Kenan Jackson (160) and Clint Wright (171) started out the dual by winning decisions for Beaufort High, and consecutive pins for Maliek Maldonado (215), Codrian Smalls (285) and Tommy Collins (103) put the Eagles up 27-3 before Summerville rallied with four pins and a major decision.
E.J. Johnson's decision victory at 140 pounds pulled the Eagles (16-6 overall, 1-1 region) within one point going into the final match. Arant had the lead when the official disqualified him for too many illegal moves, a decision with which Beaufort coach Bill DaMude strongly disagreed.
