VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL

Hilton Head Prep 65, Heathwood Hall 31: The Dolphins wasted no time getting back on track following their recent loss to Northwood Academy, forcing 47 turnovers out of the home team in a rout.

"It was a nice bounce-back win against a really solid team," Prep coach Bob Sulek said.

Kathleen Blum had 19 points, seven assists and three steals for the Dolphins (18-2). Kate Brunori nearly had a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 10 steals and eight rebounds. Jill Brunori added 18 points, 12 steals, six rebounds and four assists, in addition to shutting down Heathwood Hall leading scorer A'ja Wilson. Wilson, averaging 26 points per game, was held to eight.

Caitlin Harriford led Heathwood Hall with 10 points.

"We were exceptional on defense," said Sulek, whose squad limited the Highlanders to 29 shots from the floor.

Jamese Franklin added five points and seven rebounds for the Dolphins, who host Pinewood Prep at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a SCISAA Region 3-AAA showdown.
