VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL

Beaufort High 72, Edisto 46: Dymonte Gwathney scored 19 points, Rakeem Palmer had 11 and Jordan Broussard finished with 10 as Beaufort High cruised past Edisto.

Tyrone Holmes and Ruben Francis each scored six points. Jordan Adderly had five. Keith Alston, Simeon Daise and Joey Chaplin each contributed four.

For Edisto, Brice Johnson led the way with 25 points.

Beaufort High (9-2) will host Battery Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

First Baptist 85, Beaufort Academy 33: Lawton Henkricks scored 16 points and Nate Jenkins finished with 15 to lead First Baptist to victory.

For Beaufort Academy, Jack Griffith had nine points and four rebounds. Preston Suber and Leif Koppernaes each scored eight.

Finn Koppernaes, Connor Akers each scored four. Michael Bible finished with four rebounds.

The Eagles (3-5, 2-2) will travel to Coastal Christian in Mt. Pleasant for at 7:30 p.m. game on Thursday.

Wade Hampton 60, Battery Creek 53: The Dolphins trailed by 21 points in the third quarter but finished the game strong, shaving the lead to two at one point in the fourth.

Battery Creek's defense held undefeated Wade Hampton to just eight points in the fourth quarter but the Dolphins were unable to capitalize, missing eight free throws in the final period.

Michael Robinson led all Battery Creek scorers with 17 points and two rebounds. Terrell McWilliams had 10 points. B.J. Garvin had six points and seven rebounds. Justice Oliver had eight points, three rebounds and one steal.

For Wade Hampton, Brandon Deloach scored 18.

Battery Creek (4-9) will travel to rival Beaufort High at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL

Battery Creek 56, Wade Hampton 48: Katrece Daniels scored 15 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and made three steals, guiding Battery Creek past Wade Hampton. Deija Cannon had 14 points and five rebounds. Justice Hill had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Nyeeka Simmons had nine points, three rebounds, six assists and three steals. Rashidah Jones had five points and three rebounds. Gretchen Brown contributed two blocks.

Battery Creek (6-6) will travel to Beaufort High at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Beaufort Academy 53, First Baptist 16: Katherine Neal scored 15 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, leading the Eagles to victory.

Miranda Weslake also had a big night with 19 points and eight steals. Charlotte Delfosse hit two 3-pointers and had 15 points.

Megan Kahn and Megan DeBardelaben each scored two points.

For First Baptist, Lauren Orr led the way with eight.

Beaufort Academy (5-4, 3-1) will travel to Coastal Christian in Mt. Pleasant for at 6 p.m. game on Thursday.
