Hilton Head High cruised past Darlington, 6-0, in the opening round of the Class 3-A girls tennis state playoffs on Friday at Hilton Head High.
None of the matches were close, as the Seahawks won the five singles bouts and one doubles match in straight sets. Sabrina Drammis and Jasmyn Howell -- at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively -- won their matches without dropping a game.
Hilton Head High -- the three-time defending Class 3-A state champion -- is the No. 1 seed out of Region 7-AAA and Darlington was the runner-up out of Region 6-AAA.
The Seahawks advance to host Region 7 rival Bluffton in the next round of the playoffs at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Bobcats are coming off their first-ever playoff win.
