Hilton Head Prep 9, Ben Lippen 0: Hilton Head Prep cruised to victory in the first round of the SCISAA Class 3-A state playoffs on Monday, sweeping No. 5 seed Ben Lippen at Sea Pines Racquet Club.

The Dolphins are the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will now travel to No. 1 seed Ashley Hall on Wednesday.

Battery Creek 3, Hilton Head Christian 2: Ciara Lelie had 10 aces and 17 kills, leading Battery Creek to a 24-26, 25-19, 25-15, 15-25, 15-10 win over Hilton Head Christian.

Gretchen Brown had five kills and four blocks, Saran Anderson had five aces and three kills, and Sharea Walls finished with four aces, two kills and four blocks.

Battery Creek (11-10) will host Bluffton and Ashley Ridge at 5:30 p.m. tonight for senior night.

Hilton Head Prep 3, Thomas Heyward 0: Hilton Head Prep won in straight games, 25-11, 25-10, 25-19.

For Thomas Heyward, Ashlie Layman had nine kills, two digs and three assists. Andrea Daring finished with three kills, one block, two digs and six assists. Chandler Cook had two kills, four aces and four digs. Kayla Sanders finished with one ace, six digs and one assist.

Thomas Heyward (10-8, 7-5) will find out today if it has qualified for the SCISAA state tournament.
