The Hilton Head Christian girls golf team took fourth place out of eight teams in the SCISAA state tournament on Tuesday at Orangeburg Country Club.
The Eagles turned in a team score of 151, finishing 33 strokes behind winner Pinewood Prep.
Individually, Lauren Ziegler led the way for Hilton Head Christian with a 46, making the all-state team. Anna Lesemann Eddy fired a 50 and Maddy Bauer had a 55. Only the top three scores were used. Other HHCA scorers were posted by Jamie Hubbard (67) and Ashtyn Conrad (71).
It is the first season for the HHCA program.
"This was probably our best golf outing of the year," Hilton Head Christian coach Doug Langhals said. "They all played real well and had great attitudes. Everybody did a great job."
Heathwood Hall took second place with 145 points and Hammond School was third at 146.
Bluffton 7, Battery Creek 0: The Bluffton tennis team cruised past Battery Creek, improving to 7-3 overall and 5-0 in Region 7-AAA. The Bobcats will travel to Beaufort Academy for a 4 p.m. match today.

Berkeley tri-match: Battery Creek split its tri-match with at Berkeley, defeating Cane Bay 25-18, 26-24 and then losing to the host team, 25-17, 25-16.
For the Dolphins, Ciera Lelie had three aces, 10 kills and three blocks. Gretchen Brown had five blocks and Sharea Walls contributed five kills.
Battery Creek (11-9, 4-6) will travel to Allendale-Fairfax for a 5:30 p.m. game on Thursday.
Stratford 2, Beaufort High 1: Stratford lost the first game but rallied back to beat Beaufort High, 24-26, 25-12, 25-23.
For Beaufort High, Amber Moloney had two kills, one ace, eight digs and eight assists.
Amber Gant had five kills, two aces and 10 digs. Ariana Parker finished with one kill, one dig and one block. Mykalah Smalls had four kills, two aces and two blocks.
Deja Jackson finished with five kills, three aces, one dig and two blocks.
Natalie Pringle had 27 digs, Amber Clatterbuck had one kill, Ashley Pillery had four digs and Janelle Berks contributed one ace.
Beaufort High (7-7) will travel to Whale Branch for a 6 p.m. tri-match on Thursday. Hilton Head Christian will also be there.
