The Heritage Classic Foundation will be offering a new event during the week of RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.
The Tartan Invitational at Atlantic Dunes will be held April 11 and is an exclusive 80-player golf event pairing each group with a special South Carolina personality. Honorary guests may be a PGA TOUR professional, a musician, an athlete, an actor or politician.
Confirmed special guests include tennis hall of famer Stan Smith, Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers, former Clemson and Chicago Bears quarterback Steve Fuller, former Gamecocks and Green Bay Packer Pro-Bowler Sterling Sharpe, former college basketball coach Bobby Cremins and Bravo reality star Shep Rose. Additional special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Atlantic Dunes was voted the 2017 golf course of the year by the National Golf Course Owners Association,” said RBC Heritage Tournament Director Steve Wilmot. “This is your opportunity to enjoy a great day on an award-winning golf course with friends, colleagues and a featured guest, while investing in the future of South Carolina.”
“The contributions from the Tartan Invitational will make an impact on the young golfers in our programs,” said South Carolina Junior Golf Association Executive Director Biff Lathrop. “We feel fortunate to be a part of this exciting new event celebrating the 50th RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.”
An individual playing spot is $2,750 and a foursome is $10,000. All proceeds will be donated to the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and the Heritage Classic Foundation. For more information on the 50th annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, visit rbcheritage.com.
