LA POUR EARNS MASTER STATUS

David La Pour, director of instruction at Colleton River Plantation, recently achieved TrackMan University Master status.

The TrackMan Pro uses radar to measure trajectory, ball flight and club data. Master status involves earning credits for projects through TrackMan University.

Fifteen credits within a year are required for Master certification, according to the TrackMan website. For example, a TrackMan-run seminar is good for six credits. Submitting a new idea or concept earns three to six points.

La Pour joins Berkeley Hall's Andrew Rice as area professionals to achieve the designation. Rice is also one of only nine TrackMan University partners, those deemed qualified to teach TrackMan at classes and golf schools throughout the world.

The TrackMan technology is also used at The Golf Learning Center at Sea Pines Resort, Hurricane Training Academy and Frank O'Connell Golf, according to the product's website.

"In golf, if knowledge is power, then TrackMan wins the long drive competition," La Pour said in a news release. "It has helped our students understand and improve their golf so they can enjoy it more."
