Local Golf Notebook, April 4: Brill, Cherry win HHIPGA Spring Pro Pro event

Palmetto Dunes' Ed Brill and Haig Point's Jason Cherry teamed up to win the Hilton Head Island PGA Chapter 2013 Spring Pro Pro on Monday at Dolphin Head.

The pair teamed up to shoot a 64 in the better ball event and edge the team of Tom Logue (Moss Creek) and Josh May (Brays Island Plantation) by two strokes and take home $425 each. Logue and May each won $350.

The team of Matt Lucchesi (Colleton River) and Evan Belcher (Straight Down Clothing Company) finished third. They won $265 each.


The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa is hosting the Executive Women's Golf Association's Empower 13 conference May 9.

The conference is for local professionals interested in elevating and enriching their professional skills.

Among the topics participants will hear are how to use body language and signals to get what you want in business and life, what it takes to win, how to set goals to achieve peak performance on the course and off, how to utilize sports conversations to your business advantage, how golf can be a health and wellness answer and fitness techniques to enhance mobility on the golf course.
