USC Beaufort golfer Jud Milam is tied for the lead after two rounds at the Savannah Quarters Individual Intercollegiate in Pooler, Ga.
Milam, a junior from Trussville, Ala., fired rounds of 68 and 71 on Monday and is tied atop the leaderboard at 5-under with Kennesaw State's Kelby Burton. A group of four players sits three shots back, and USCB junior Brad Curren (76-67) is tied for seventh at 1-under.
The tournament field includes players from a number of NCAA Division I programs, including South Carolina, South Florida and host Georgia Southern.
USCB sophomore Jesse Maislin (73-74) is tied for 15th and senior C.J. Kelly (83-69) is tied for 30th.
The rest of the Sand Sharks in the field were tightly bunched, with freshman Seth Rockwell (79-78), senior Chandler Vilcheck (78-79) and senior Chris Finke (81-76) tied for 38th and junior Cory Cottrell (83-75) and senior Chandler McDonald (76-82) tied for 41st.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. The lead group, including Milam and Burton, will start on the first tee at 9:20 a.m.
