The USC Beaufort cross country teams competed in the Gamecock Invitational on Friday at Fort Jackson, and the Sand Shark men placed four runners in the top 10 and finished second as a team. UNC Pembroke finished just ahead of USCB in Division 2.
Marshall Meyer led USCB's men, placing third in the division and seventh overall with a time of 16 minutes, 30 seconds. Other USCB runners were Frank Tinsley (6th), Jon Critchlow (7th), Tommie Reeves (8th), Ian Evans (16th) and Anthony Vecchio (11th, unattached).
Only three USCB women competed, led by Selena Hutson's third-place finish in 20:10. Jessica Brown placed 23rd and Katie Mock was ninth, running unattached. Mock has petitioned the NAIA for another year of eligibility and is waiting to hear the decision.
