Brewton-Parker knocks off Sand Sharks, 6-2

Brewton-Parker's Jacob Evors and Robert Harris combined for six hits and five RBIs, and each hit a home run to power the eighth-ranked Barons to a 6-2 victory against USC Beaufort in a non-conference game Wednesday at Hardeeville's Richard Gray Baseball Complex.

The Sand Sharks (23-18) had plenty of scoring opportunities, but they didn't convert often, leaving 10 men on base.

Ace right-hander Dexter Price took the loss, allowing two runs on six hits over four innings.

Ty Main, Blake Cilwick and Erik Armstrong had two hits apiece for the Sand Sharks, and Armstrong and Paul Cheeks drove in runs.

USCB travels to Jacksonville, Fla., on Tuesday for a non-conference game against Edward Waters before wrapping up its Sun Conference schedule with a three-game series at Florida Memorial on April 22-23.
