Three pitchers combined on a seven-inning one-hitter, and Gabe Torres led a 15-hit attack with three hits and three RBIs, as the USC Beaufort baseball team ran its winning streak to 10 games with an 18-0 victory against visiting Voorhees College on Wednesday at Hardeeville's Richard Gray Baseball Complex.
The Sand Sharks broke it open early with four runs in the second and nine more in the third. Torres led the potent offense with a double and a home run. R.J. Neal added four RBIs, and Spencer Jackson, Blake Cilwick and Clay Bonds each drove in two runs. Bonds, Jackson and Larry Perry each had two hits.
USCB's pitchers shut down the Tigers, holding them to just two baserunners. Voorhees starting pitcher Darryl Keister reached on a single, and Corey Rodall reached on an error.
Starter Matthew Graney earned the win, allowing the one hit and striking out four over five innings. Andres Castro and Alex Graham each worked a perfect inning in relief.
