Sand Sharks run their win streak to 5

Larry Perry and DeShontay Berry had three hits apiece, and Conald Mansfield drove in the winning run, leading the USC Beaufort baseball team to a 6-5 victory at Edward Waters on Tuesday in Jacksonville, Fla.

Perry and Berry each went 3 for 4, with Perry scoring twice and Berry driving in two runs. Gabe Torres, Spencer Jackson and David O'Neil each added two hits and an RBI for the Sand Sharks, who have won five straight since dropping their home opener to Brewton-Parker.

Andres Castro (1-0) picked up the win with two innings of relief.

Although he didn't factor in the decision, junior left-hander Matthew Graney gave the Sand Sharks a solid start, allowing two runs on four hits over five innings.

The Sand Sharks (6-1) return home to Hardeeville's Richard Gray Baseball Complex this weekend for a Sun Conference series with Ave Maria. The opener is set for 1 p.m. Friday, and a doubleheader begins at noon Saturday.
