The USC Beaufort women's golf team finished third among an 18-team field at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday at Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Ga.
USCB posted a team total of 642 for the 36-hole tournament, finishing 15 shots behind champion Shorter and three shots behind runner-up Cumberlands.
The Sand Sharks began the final round in second place, five shots behind Shorter, and despite shaving two strokes off their score from Monday, they slipped one spot in the standings.
Adriana Saavedra and Sophie Henke led USCB, tying for sixth place at 15-over-par 159. Kelli Nakano also cracked the top 10, tying for 10th at 160. Kaitlin O'Sullivan (166) and Kendra Collins (174) rounded out USCB's lineup.

The Sand Sharks' next action will come Oct. 18-19 at the Charleston Southern Wendy's Invitational at Coosaw Creek Country Club in Charleston.
