The status quo will collide with the dawn of a new era when the USC Beaufort women's golf team opens its fall season today and Sunday at the Lady Falcon Invitational at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The event will mark the first for new coach Emily Kuhfeld, but the lineup Kuhfeld inherits will look awfully familiar.
The Sand Sharks have all five starters back from the team that finished seventh at the NAIA National Championships in May, though the lineup won't be fully intact this weekend, as junior Brittany Cheek is nursing a shoulder injury.
Freshman Kendra Collins, a former Bluffton High School standout, will take Cheek's place in the top five, joining juniors Adriana Saavedra, Sophie Henke and Kaitlin O'Sullivan and sophomore Kelli Nakano.

Saavedra was an honorable mention NAIA all-America selection last season. Henke and Cheek posted USCB's best finishes at nationals, tying for 20th.
The Sand Sharks will play four events this fall. Up next is the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational from Oct. 4-5 in Rome, Ga.
