Crownover leads Clemson to 6-1 win over N.C. State

CLEMSON -- Matthew Crownover allowed just one run on three hits in eight innings to lead No. 15 Clemson to a 6-1 victory over North Carolina State on Saturday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Clemson (20-9, 9-3 ACC) upped its winning streak to six. N.C. State (17-12, 3-10) lost its 10th ACC contest in a row.

Crownover (6-2) finished with two walks and seven strikeouts. Wolfpack starter Carlos Rodon (2-5) took the loss in a complete-game effort.

Chris Okey and Steve Wilkerson had run-scoring singles in the fourth to give Clemson the lead for good. Clemson added one run in the sixth inning and three runs in the eighth inning. All six Tiger runs scored with two outs.
